Sibayak and Bukit Lawang Trekking Package

Brastagi is a lovely tourist town in the Karo highlands, 70 kms on the way from Medan to Lake Toba. Brastagi is famous for its flowers, vegetables and fruits.
The most famous of which is the Marquisa or passion fruit. The local markets are swarming with activity and scenes from traditional Karo life. Days are extremely pleasant and night can be quite cool. Gundaling Hills provides a clear view of Mt. Sibayak and Mt. Sinabung volcanoes.

Sibayak volcano is located 40 km SW of Medan in northern Sumatra. It is adjacent to the town of Berastagi.

A second peak called Mt Pinto forms a twin volcano. Sibayak has a 900 m wide crater which has deposits from Pinto on the northern rim. The western crater wall has a gap through which lava has flowed from a central plug.

Sibayak complex consists of Singkut caldera and volcanic cones such as Sibayak, Pintou and Prategtekan.

Sibayak Geothermal Field
The field at Sibayak was the first to be developed commercially in Sumatra. It is located at an elevation of between 1400 and 2200 m above sea. Sibayak field has a liquid-dominated reservoir with the highest temperature of 280 deg C located beneath the eastern flank of Mt. Sibayak. Strong solfatara activity is found at the summit and hot springs on the southern slope. There are ten production wells with a capacity of 25 MWe.

Trekking Itinerary

DAY 01. MEDAN - BUKIT LAWANG (BUKIT LAWANG COTTAGE)
Arrival at Polonia Airport Medan drive to Bukit Lawang with stop at Crocodile farm, and several Plantation for Rubber and Palm oil arrival at Bukit Lawang check in to hotel.

DAY 02. BUKIT LAWANGTRACKING LEUSER PARK.(OVERNIGHT TENT or SHELTER) B.L.D
After breakfast at hotel then walking trough the bank of the river and crossing the river by traditional canoe and walking up the jungle to see the Orang Utan on the their feeding time. After feeding the Orang Utan tracking throuhg the Leuser National Park, walking around Leuser National Park is the time to experience many kind of flora and fauna as well enjoy the song of birds and Siamang ?The Black Gibbon? and overnight in tent or shelter.

DAY 03. CONTINUE TRACKING RETURN TO HOTEL (B.L)
After breakfast prepared by tour guide continue tracking, today is full day walking and explore the rain tropical forest with their wild life living in their natural habitat. Afternoon return to hotel.

DAY 04. FULLDAY WHITE WATER RAFTING (B.L.)
After breakfast drive by mini bus to Wampu river and arrival at starting point, starting your white water rafting adventure. During the rafting, the excellent opportunity to see the bird and wild life as white enjoying the two mild rapids. Arrival at waterfall at the bank of the river enjoying your shower and lunch will be provided afternoon arrival at the point stop enjoying coffee break before driving back to hotel.

DAY 05. BUKIT LAWANG - BRASTAGI ( Brastagi Cottage). B
After breakfast drive back to Medan and continue drive to Brastagi on the way stop at Sikupikap hot spring, arrival at Brastagi visit Batak Karo traditional village at Peceren, fruitmarket, Gundaling Hill and afternoon check in to hotel.

DAY 06: SIBAYAK VOLCANO CLIMBING - MEDAN ( BEST WESTERN ASEAN HOTEL) B,L
After early breakfast drive to the slope of Sibayak Vulcano and then start climbing to Sibayak Volcano, where approximately at noon arrival on the top of Sibayak, after take a rest and enjoy it the view, start tracking back to Brastagu via different route where you will arrive at Lau Debuk-Debuk hot spring and you can enjoy swimming on the hot spring pool and then drive back to Medan, arrival at Medan check in to hotel.

DAY 07. HOTEL - AIRPORT. B
After breakfast transfer to Airport for your flight to next destination.
