At 2392 meters tall, Mt Bromo is not among the tallest of Indonesia’s mountains but its stunning beauty lies in its incredible setting.

From a vantage point on Mount Penanjakan (2,770 meters above sea level) visitors from around the world come to see the sunrise over Mt Bromo. From this spot the vista is magnificent. Ijen Crater
Ijen plateau or known as "Kawah Ijen" is highly recommended to mountain buffs and hikers. The Plateau was at one time a huge active crater, 134 sq km in area. Today, Ijen is a quiet but active volcano, and the landscape is dominated by the volcanic cones of Ijen (2,368 asl) and Merapi (2,800 asl) on the northeastern edge of the Plateau, and Raung (3,332 asl) on the southwest corner.

The magnificent turquoise sulfur lake of Kawah Ijen lies at 2148 m above sea level and is surrounded by the volcanos sheer crater walls. The vent is a source of sulfur and collectors work here, making the trek up to the crater and down to the lake every day. Sulfur collectors hike up in the morning and return around 1 pm when the clouds roll in. They carry shoulder basket of pure sulfur from a quarry on the lakes edge under the shadow of the sheer walls of the crater. The mineral at Kawah Ijen is purer and is worth commercial exploitation despite the horrendous labor involved: Javas homegrown sulfur is a natural source of sulfuric acid, in great demand in the oil-refining business and in the production of fertilizers.

Mount Bromo and Ijen Tour Itinerary

DAY 01: SURABAYA – BANYUWANGI
Leaving Surabaya in the morning, directly to Banyuwangi. It will be approximately 6hours passing through java north coast country road. Stop over in Pasir Putih Beach. In the afternoon, check-in hotel and free at leisure.

DAY 02: KAWAH IJEN – BROMO (Breakfast on box)
At 05.00 am check out and then proceed to Ijen crater, which is well known as the widest crater in Indonesia (with 5Ha area on the height of 2800m above sea level). Hiking up to 3.5hours return trip from Paltuding area/ Ranger Camp. Breakfast will be provided on box. Leaving from Paltuding area at noon, directly to Bromo area. In the gloaming day arrived at hotel then check-in and free program.

DAY 03: BROMO SUNRISE – SURABAYA (Breakfast)
Morning call at 4 am with a 4 wheel drive Jeep to Pananjakan/view point. About 45 minute driving. Afterwards having coffee/ tea break at local foodstall then we'll see the sunrise (if the weather is possibly) and also the fantastic view of Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park. Next, passing through the Sand Sea into the peak of Mt. Bromo closely to see an active crater. Breakfast at hotel restaurant. About 10 a.m. heading back to Surabaya. On the way, we invite participant to visit Sidoarjo city, which is famous with processing food from marine product.  Lunch and dinner will serve at local restaurant.

Day 04 : Surabaya Departure (B)
Free at your own leisure time till time to departure. our local staff will pick you up at hotel lobby then escorting you to Surabaya airport for your next destination. Trip conclude.
