Baduy animist tribe in the Mountain
Kendeng area about 5.101 ha, live, in Kanekes Village. Leuwidamar Sub
district, about 38 km from Rangkasbitung the City of Lebak Regency. know as
holy men, by black magic and simple life. Religious refusal to all outside
influence, happy without technology, the plastic world has stopped. No
police, no money, not much government, high ethics secluded area like
monastery, 6000 people at 1987. now about 8000 people.
The community is classified in the Baduy Dalam White Baduy (Inner Baduy )
and Baduy Luar Black Baduy (Outer Baduy ). About 400 people of baduy dalam
live in three villages which are completely surround by a protective buffer
zone of baduy luar. Each village of baduy dalam is headed by PUUN who is
demand sacred for possessing hereditary spiritual power.
Baduy Consists of two part :
Baduy Dalam (Inner Baduy) : Live in three Kampung’s : Cikeusik,
Cikertawarna and Cibeo. They have their own government, the tradition
government. There are three heads of ethnic group as the head of government.
We call them PUUN, that is Cikeusik, Cibeo.
Baduy Luar (outer Baduy) : Live in the outside of the three Kampung’s.
There are 53 Kampung in the Baduy. There is a tradition community, they have
the firm tradition law Cikertawarna and Cibeo PUUN’S. They are have eight
assistant which have the same function and duties and called JARO. The most
of the Baduys are Farmers. They plant Huma Rice (padi Huma / padi ladang)
and other plantation. Beside farmers the make religion is “Sunda Wiwitan”,
they believe only One God, SANG HYANG TUNGGAL as andicrafts like Koja’s bag,
palm sugar, woven products and less are merchands.Their Rhe creature,
arrange and decider in the live.

THE TRIP ITINERARY :
Day 1
¤
Departure at 0700 am From CARITA to Ciboleger takes about 3 hours throught
counry side. Arrive at Ciboleger ( the gate to Baduy tribe ) about 1100 am ,
directly tracking to Kadu Ketug, Kadu jangkung and kadu keter then tracking
to Gajeboh, ( Outer Baduy or Black Baduy ) .

Gajeboh is The Boarder between outer and iner Baduy , while you will see and
enjoy the simple life of Baduy community and feel how rich culture and
nature of Baduy tribe.
¤
Take rest for a few minutes in Gajeboh and we will having lunch here ( Lunch
Box), also we will stay over night here at the leaders house.
¤
In the afternoon about 16.00 we will tracking up to the hill of Gajeboh
crossing the famous bamboo bridge to see the activities of Baduy community (
Rice field, how they make Brown sugar / palm sugar, Bananas garden etc).

We will also take shower / swimming at the Baduy river.
¤
After lunch at 20.00 we will see the Traditional music (Baduy Gamelan
Angklung and Suling ). Free time. ( L, D )
Day 2
¤
Early in the morning tracing up to the hill to see sunrise
¤
After break fast at 08.00 Tracing up to Cicakal stop over here to see view
around the village ( to see they make cloth, wooden bag from skin of wood.
Bracelets ect)

Then continuing to cigula crossing other bamboo bridge to Cigula , if
possible we visit the baduy lake on the way to Kadu Jangkung and back to
Ciboleger lunch time .

Ciboleger to Carita end of trip. ( B, L )

You will see the Baduy make own cloth, bracelet, bag , necklace from skin
wood etc

Possibility see the place to make brown sugar and the baduy climb up high
palm by single bamboo loader take juice of palm for make sugar.

You will take shower , swim in the river with the community

All night without electric lamp just traditional lamp

You will served simple cake ( brown sugar ) by the community

You will see the kids of baduy forbidden to go to school And any other
